Faculty for the Future Forum 2025: A Celebration of Global Women in Science
Cambridge, UK – September 2025
In September 2025, the Schlumberger Foundation proudly hosted the Faculty for the Future Forum 2025 at Fitzwilliam College, University of Cambridge, bringing together over 75 exceptional women scientists from across the globe. These Fellows, recipients of the Foundation’s prestigious Faculty for the Future Fellowship, represented more than 35 countries and a breath-taking range of research disciplines — from low-carbon building design in Sudan to pollinator ecology in Tanzania.
The Forum was a vibrant celebration of scientific excellence, diversity, and collaboration. Fellows shared ground-breaking research in areas such as:
- Sustainable architecture and low-carbon infrastructure
- Neurological health and stroke prognosis
- Advanced energy storage materials
- Biodiversity and ecological resilience
- Climate change and water quality
- Maternal health and computational biomechanics
The event sparked cross-disciplinary connections and fostered dialogue between academia and industry, highlighting the power of collaboration in solving global challenges.
Voices That Inspired
The Forum featured a lineup of visionary speakers and panelists, including Gabriela Ramos, Tom Ilube, Taghried Abdel-Magid, Eman Maali, Tina Phiri Chanda, and many others. Their insights and stories energized the audience and underscored the importance of inclusive leadership and innovation.
Special thanks to SLB researchers led by Jijo Joseph, who engaged Fellows during poster sessions, and to the SLB speed-mentoring team led by Manal A. Allam and Dr. Olga Domanova, whose guidance helped bridge the gap between research and real-world application.
Behind the Scenes
The success of the Forum was made possible by the dedication of the organizing team — Clémence Fleury, John Beattie, Axel Zeppenfeld, Elisabeth Forge — and the support of the Schlumberger Foundation Board and SLB leadership. The Foundation also extends its gratitude to the welcoming hosts at Fitzwilliam College.

The Forum featured powerful video contributions from Fellows including Bayan Ghanem, Bellicia Disashi Kamwanya, PhD, Dr. Tina Phiri Chanda, Dr. Hanan Abukmail, Dr. Helena Buque, and Aureliana Chambal Chilengue — each sharing personal journeys of resilience, ambition, and impact.
A Fellowship of Changemakers
The Faculty for the Future Forum 2025 was more than an event — it was a testament to the strength, brilliance, and potential of women in science. As one Fellow put it, “You are not the only dreamer.” Together, these women are shaping a more equitable and sustainable future.
