- PhD Title: Whole-genome scale identification of novel non-protein-coding RNAs modulating brain endothelial cells survival in cerebral malaria
- Year of Completion: 2026

PhD Overview
This PhD research aims to better understand the complex immunological mechanisms associated with cerebral malaria, the most severe and devastating form of malaria, which can lead to lasting negative effects on survivors. The discovery of new adjunct therapy for cerebral malaria has proven challenging and unsatisfactory due to a restricted understanding of the mechanisms underlying the disease. The identification of specific molecules, pathways, or networks through this research will promote the development of innovative host-directed treatments, offering compelling potential for the prevention and treatment of cerebral malaria.

About Me
My speciality is medical parasitology, with a focus on malaria, a major health issue in my home country, the Democratic Republic of the Congo. I have extensive host-pathogen interaction analysis experience from 5 years of biomedical research. My present research focusses on the processes behind cerebral malaria, the most lethal type. I am dedicated to connecting STEM women worldwide through the Ces Femmes in STEM association.
